It's hot and there's nothing you can do
Summer has arrived in the land down under. It’s sweaty, sticky, and humid all at once. Albeit brief, when summer arrives it does so with little warning. Most of us struggle for the first few days as we are quickly reminded of how inadequate our air conditioning is and all of those ideas we had last summer to keep cool have faded from our minds.
It's like playing a minigame when you try and not let it melt on your hands |
It’s at this time where you find people have little patience for each other, on edge from their sudden environmental discomfort. You see it on the roads, where people rush to get where they’re going or escape their heat-induced irritation. People seem unhappy after a few days of hot weather, as they are feeling the effects of fading sunburn or too many restless nights.

Remember, it’s only for a short while. It’s not hot forever and some momentary discomfort often brings new perspectives and new things to be grateful for. That shady spot under a tree, or a shopfront’s cool air passing out into the street. A spray from the hose, a cold shower, or a cold ice cream. You won’t even notice it’s hot if you’re immersed in a holiday activity or two. So try and keep your cool, and don’t add to the temperature with internal heat!
I love it much better than freezing all the time.
